From an undisputed ueen of burlesue comes an irresistably fun tasseled tale of sex scandal and naked ambition Tiger Starr has risen from nothing to become burlesue's most sensational showgirl She has bewitched an adoring public and media with her old school Hollywood glamour hourglass curves and wick. Tiger Starr has come from nothing and has risen to become burlesue's most famous showgirl Her fans love her and her life seems to be a constant stream of working glamour and celebrity parties What Tiger has managed to do is hide an extremely dark secret from her past and nobody except her closes friend Blue knows the real truth As her shows take off and she is offered the deal of a lifetime things seem to start coming crashing down around her The problem is that Tiger has no idea who the person is or just how much her life is in dangerI brought this book purely because it was part of a buy 3 for the price of 2 offers Having never read or heard of Immodesty Blaize I thought I would give it a try Now before I actually share my opinion I must confess I absolutely adore trashy novels It's a secret of mine that I don't normally promote but I like to take a break from all the Crime and Thriller books I read When I read the uote by the Evening Standard on the front of the book which said Roll over Jackie Collins I couldn't help but look forward to reading itTo be honest it took me no time at all to get into the book the first few chapters just flew by as I managed to get an idea of who everybody was You meet all the closes people to Tiger such as Rex who manages her PR Lewis her Manager Sienna her sister and Blue who is not only her stylist but her best friendThe characters were written really well and they all fitted into Tiger's life a treat The chapters flowed well throughout the story and around halfway through the author starts to introduce the second theme to the story It wasn't immediately obvious why but by the end I thought it was the perfect way to write itNot only was it written well but it wasn't just a book written filled with only smut and celebrities this book actually has a couple of very surprising twists in it too The story develops and with it the characters get better tooFor those that have no idea what burlesue is all about this book certainly highlights it extremely well I would almost go as far as to say I would be interested to see what the real burlesue dancers actually perform like The major plus for me was the fact that the author being a burlesue dancer really knows her stuff and this comes across in the story making it all the authenticThis book had all the ingredients for a 'bonkbuster' sexy men and women a smattering of sex show business and the element of a little bit of danger or violence All in all I thought this was a fabulous book and would really recommend it No it's not meant to have any great moral to the story and no it's not meant to leave a lasting impression It really is what a `bonkbuster' is all about; a bit of mindless trashy reading Hence the reason I loved it

Edly sexy stage shows Living a life of glamour diamonds celebrity parties and than her fair share of suitors she seems to finally have it all But beneath all the glitz and the feathers she's hiding than her modesty As she prepares for the most important show of her life it seems somebody is intent on. A Jackie Collins wannabe Same style although I felt that Collins portrayed the glamorous life of celebrities better Another novel about celebrity life and the life of glamour with a hint of action Although I hated the constant show up of the word babes which is irritating than the original babe The characters were well depicted Readers could easily hate Rex and feel sorry for Tiger like wise with the rest of the characters It was longer than it should have been Too much unnecessary details Again even though I was stuck somewhere boring with nothing else to do I would have never read it till the end Immodesty Blaze's Tease also should have been a movie script with all the tiny chapters in the middle of the gloved hands and the last chapter explaining everyone's happy ending and deserving demiseIt was a bit predictable as well I could make out who the mysterious person with the gloves is the truth about Sienna's family tie with Tiger and the whole Richie and Blue debacleI wouldn't recommend it Unless you are into cheap literature then go right ahead Cowboy to the Rescue rest of the characters It was longer than it should have been Too much unnecessary details Again even though I was stuck somewhere boring with nothing else to do I would have never Revival - Deluxe Collection, Volume 1 read it till the end Immodesty Blaze's Tease also should have been a movie script with all the tiny chapters in the middle of the gloved hands and the last chapter explaining everyone's happy ending and deserving demiseIt was a bit predictable as well I could make out who the mysterious person with the gloves is the truth about Sienna's family tie with Tiger and the whole Richie and Blue debacleI wouldn't Child of His Heart recommend it Unless you are into cheap literature then go A Cowboy of Her Own right ahead

I thought that I would really enjoy this book The cover was gorgeous and it's exactly the type of guilty pleasure read that I love But I was so so wrongAs a reader there is nothing annoying than being TOLD instead of SHOWN Right from the beginning we were told we had to love the main character Tiger even though we were shown absolutely nothing about her personality Instead the book droned on and on about her looks Nobody else could measure up to her anyone who disliked her was portrayed as jealous or nasty because who could possibly dislike such a wonderful perfect creature? A Mary Sue at its finest Aside from that the plot was ridiculous and the writing was full of cliches I don't expect anything too great when I read chick lit books but I want it to be enjoyable and this book was anything but

The debut novel by Immodesty Blaize is a tribute and celebration of many things The genre of the bonkbuster the world of burlesue glamour of London's high society with a delicious nod to the world of erotic writing But I truly think that there is much to 'Tease' than just that Not only is this lovingly well crafted and readable story it harks back to much such as the sensational trashy writing of Harold Robbins and Jacueline Susann also Whereas many found the likes of Jackie Collins and Danielle Steel intensely dragging in the thought department Immodesty's book excels with supple intrigue grandiose elegance and unpredictable mystery which doesn't feel like you have indulged in some sort of guilty pleasure Instead you truly feel gratified at the end Blaize's obvious strength is the re creation of her exotic and wonderfully over the top stage routines in this book but not only that We are given intricate details about the world and history of burlesue in well edited pieces that make the prose entirely accessible even to those with no knowledge of burlesue I would even hasten to say that the portrayal of the performance here would even inspire many to either don a merkin and pasties and tread the boards themselves or even seek out themselves this sub culture sometime This book has everything Opulence glamour mystery secrets lies cheaters sex of all kind and lots of great dialogue to boot The sex scenes are refreshing in their simplicity and well executed in their often graphic presentation The depth the sights the smells and the sound all blend into this great well paced story that keeps you guessing until the very end where you will be laughing hysterically with tears in your eyes I really hope that's not the only time we hear from Tiger Starr and her fabulous curves

Tease is the Debut novel from Burlesue Dancer Immodesty Blaize Itfollows in the traditions of Jackie Collins Bonkbusters and the sassinessand glamorous tales of Tasmina Perry Tease is about a Burlesue dancernamed Tiger Starr who is on the top of her game she has it all on thesurface from being Britian's number one star adoring fans shows aroundthe worls beautiful outfits and money and definitley not a lack of sex aswe read of her interesting sexual encounters However in the shadows ofher work it has left a number of enemies and someone is stalking Tigerand leaving her threatning letters and will go to lengths to expose herpast life and deepest and darkest secrets prior the days of Tiger StarrAs things start to get too much for Tiger we read as she stutters herway throung conversations and her whole facade starts crumbling as fast asyou can say Dance While all this is happening Tiger has been given thechance of starring the Vegas Show her dream of 15 years Can she putaside all her fear to present the show she has waited for all her life orwill things build up too much that Tiger will lose everything she hasworked for A sexy and intriguing novel one you won't find out thewhodunnit till the last chapter A novel that is like Dreamgirls MeetsBelle Du Jour

As a not so secret fan of chick lit I thought I would love this book Unfortunately it was too schmaltzy even for me I don't know how many people here are familiar with the phrase Mary Sue but this is exactly what the main character in this book is To clarify a Mary Sue is a character that has no flaws is beautiful perfect talented everyone loves her and the people that don't are jealous blah blah blah Pages and pages of being told how wonderful Tiger Starr the main character is starts to wear on you a little bit and for the record I found her vapid and annoying constant uses of the word darling and smoked salmon for breakfast ugh And of course her sister Sienna whenever she criticises Tiger she is accused of being a bitch or jealous Zzzzzzzz boring Most of Tiger's Starrlets think she is wonderful omg wish I was her SHUT THE FUCK UP To put it bluntly I thought this book was an absolute crock of shit

Tease is the story of a Showgirl written by a real life showgirl It's hard not to like Tiger would love to go see one of her shows could settle for a show by Immodesty Blaize though This book is fabulous Very bitchy There are some great put downs and one liners in this book Charcters you love and characters you love to hate I hated Sienna thought she was an ungreatful bitch and even when the truth all comes out I still didn't like her Georgia Urg Another bitch Tiger is not the best judge of character There are some plot twists which I won't spoil but you will properly see them coming The one thing that annoys me about this book is the cover Considering how amazing the costumes and set pieces sound you think they would have come up with something better

Possibly the worst book I have ever read in my life My eyes rolled so much I was beginning to fear they would roll out of my socketsDon't get me wrong I love the Burlesue scene but this? I think towards the end I started spitting bloodThe plot twist I saw coming a mile off and in the end I actually wanted the antagonist to ultimately winI'd give it a miss
