35 stars for this new take on a classic children’s storyA silly bookish rendition of Little Red Riding Hood My three and five year old enjoyed the initial suspense and silliness but lost interest as the story progressed Perhaps this would be a better fit for older children who are familiar with the original story Thank you to Hachette Book Group for sending me this physical copy to read and review with my children

A book lover's twist on Little Red Riding Hood that is uite amusing and satisfying The wolf is drawn very oddly though

Needing a book for story time I just picked this upWhat a Hoot The illustrations are different from most books I read at story time just noted that the illustrator is a character designer from a little town outside of Rome Italy so that would account for this differenceLittle Red Reading Hood encounters a wolf in the woods Mmmm he said sniffing the air I smell my favorite smell Throughout the story he keeps sniffingThere was a discussion among staff as the word slinked was used to describe his leaving They all insisted it should have been slunk but after doing a bit of research it was decided that it could be either Children will enjoy this different version brought to mind the Lisa Campbell Ernst edition of Little Red Riding Hood A New Fangled Prairie Tale

A reimagined version of the Red Riding Hood story centered on the love and value of reading I really like the addition of book related details like the letters and book decorating the hood but the pictures were a little muddled Nice addition to a fairy tale fractured fairy tale story time

For of my book content check out instagramcombookalong •This is a cute retelling of Little Red Riding Hood but with a twist A Bookloving Heroine •Little Red Reading Hood loves books and is uite bright So as she sets out to take her sick grandmother some treats and encounters a wolf she know what to do because she has read all about it Only this is not your typical wolf And what he wants from Red is something unexpected Someone to read him a bedtime story and Red might he his only hope •A bookish heroine sign me up Obviously as a booklover I enjoyed this twist on the original story I think this book would be great for boys or girls I dont think that kids necessarily need to have read the original version to enjoy this one at all If they have read the classic then bonus The illustrations are very cute too •Thank You to the publisher for sending us this book Look for this one on July 2nd

Full review on thegraduatedbookwormcomFirst I'd like to thank Hachette Book Group Canada for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review This was a book totally up my street and I LOVED IT ALLI also love how in a way it's all about not judging a book by it's cover when it comes to people or animals of all kindsThis is definitely a book you'll want to read to your kids or students or even get for anyone with kids Especially in a funny voice I think kids would love itOverall this was an awesome children's story It played on a classic but with a funny twist and I loved the ending of the story and how it all came together

Childrens picture book fractured fairy tale In this retelling of Little Red Riding Hood Little Red is of course on her way to her grandmother's house But since Red is so well read she knows what to do when approached by a wolf in the woods The reader may suspect a difference in this tale as the wolf gently tries to plea his case before leaving Red alone view spoilerThis wolf turns out to be interested in Red's book than in Red and everyone ends up reading happily together hide spoiler

I was checking books in at work and stopped to look at thisI was laughing so hard my coworker was looking at me like I was crazyI love it What a fun twist on the classic fairy tale I love that Red has red hair and glasses like me I'm 28 and you're never too old to enjoy media representation I love that she's prepared for so many things because of course she read about it Also clearly you're never too old for storytime I also liked the details with the little purple bird that you might miss if you aren't paying attention to the illustrations

Funny fractured tale Little Red knows exactly what to do about wolves because Red has read all about them The story goes through all the normal Little Red Riding Hood events walk to grandma's house meeting the wolf the wolf dressed as grandma the traditional text etc However when it is time to eat all the wolf really wants is the book He wants to hear a story I would use this tale for 3rd grade and up for grammar or just fairy tale fun
