25 stars Do not fear little one Nikhil found himself pulling her close cooing in her ear I vow you are safe As the Suad Leader of the Elite Warriors Nikhil Kozar is a supper large intimidating warrior his fellow warriors see him as extremely capable soldier and an over achiever who gets things done and is a pain in the ass at the training field Due to his size others are intimidated by him especially females When he finds a badly beaten and malnourished human female Mackenzie Mac in one of the illegal slave mines of the hated enemy alien race he does everything in his power to protect heal and care for her especially since his mate beads transfers to her creating a mate bonda thing unheard of since the great infection over five hundred years ago which reduced the Kaliszian female population to a few True Mates were the greatest gift the godess could give a Kaliszian The bond would bind them together for life If one died the other would soon follow' This was a slightly entertaining read with the often expected insta lovesoul mate bonding found in alien romance books except a good portion of this book was spent on ridiculous miscommunication cultural misunderstanding and withholding of information leading to anger unfortunate words and hurt feelings all of which were unnecessary and irritating All this made me doubt the hero and heroine's intelligence and depth of their love and so called magical connection But since magical alien beads and ancient myth and legend are involved anything is possibleThere were other issues to do with plot fillers such as repetition of thoughts conversions and scenes where nothing much was happening like visits to the hospital or other places where the hero and heroine were separated by other duties etc But all this meant that I didn't see a believable relationship forming between this couple because they didn't spend enough time together like the other couples in Eidem's Tornians series things just happened here Insta love insta connection insta relationship and insta sex within a short time period This book is an erotic alien romance the alien is human than alien so it should've been hot all the necessary ingredients were there but I can't remember anything hot here There was a lot of passionate words lot of explicit bedroom action and sex talk but IMO it wasn't hot The words were repetitive and just empty Nothing translated from words into real emotions or heat It was all a bit underwhelmingThere was also very little world building here I expected that since erotic romance plots tend to focus on the relationship side of things But since the romance and relationship was lacking here all the other imperfections come into sharper focus The humans hardly interact with the Kaliszian and vice versa because the setting was limited to a small planet far away from their homelandplanet These issues and the previous ones slowed down the plot and made the romance less potent and the story slightly boring and one dimensional creating many eye roll situations But Luol the warrior medic and his true love Maysa the Kaliszian female he chose to love despite luck of true mate beads stole the show Their love connection and commitment to each other was palpable even though they only talked once on video call 'You are the true mate of my heart too Luol Nothing not even a bead could ever change that' Somehow these words have impact coming from Luol and Maysa than the main couple Still I hope and pray the next couple are like Luol and Maysa because I'm just not ready to give up on this new series just yet

I love MK Eidem books I expected Treyvon's book to come out first but after reading a blurb on the author's website that she needed to tell Nikhil's story first before Treyvon made sense Her website mentioned she told Grim's story first book I've read of hers and absolutely LOVE when she should've told Wray's story first I really like Nikhil's story and am anxious to read about Treyvon I am curious if she will write about the '3 powerful species in the known universe' and how that all ties in with humans

Warning Possible spoilers and some definite raging belowI’ve been waiting for Ms Eidem to come out with a new book for what seems like forever Not really but I preordered this bad boy up immediately when I saw she decided to write this one before Treyvon I love her stories and world building She never disappoints with her perfect heroes This was no different Ms Eidem introduces us to a sister race of the Tornians the Kaliszians that we catch a first glimpse of in Wray and Grim two of my all time favorite books The Kaliszians have a “True Mate” that is determined by the transfer of the True Mate bead A true mate can also become their Ashe which I euated to as a wife But the Ashe doesn't have to be their True Mate Mackenzie is found in the Zaludian mines beaten and severely malnourished and dehydrated She is discovered to be Nikhil’s true mate when she is rescued I did find I had some confusion on the whole True MateAshe thing and whether they could have healthy children vs unhealthy children with someone who was just an Ashe as opposed to a True MateNikhil was wonderful so kind and sweet You complete me in a way I cannot adeuately express I am no longer alone there is now to my life than just duty and battle There is you” I wanted to just eat him up He was the perfect hero He only wanted to take care of Mackenzie He treated her with honor and respect and I felt he truly loved her And only wanted to please her He was absolutely perfect in my eyesWhat my entire problem with this book was the heroine Mackenzie OMG I wanted to choke the ever loving shit out of her She had me raging on than one occasion that not even a bottle of wine could make me like her She jumped to conclusions at every turn and then would say hurtful things and not explain why she was upset Oh don’t get me wrong she had moments where I thought “Okay she’s going to come through for me” But then she would go and do some dumb shit and I had the hate going on again In the end I guess you could say she proved her love for Nikhil but to me it was too little too late Up until the last few pages she was still keeping secrets from him that she claimed weren't her secrets to tell but I call bullshit She wanted him to be honest with her in everything She should have trusted her mate It drives me absolutely crazy to have a perfect hero paired with a bitchy heroine one who doesn't appreciate him I totally understand feeling you have your choices taken away and not wanting a bead to determine your fate But come on Get over that shit alreadyAnyway raging doneoverall I enjoyed the story and look forward to Treyvon though view spoilerJen the heroine has a dead husband and I hate dead exes hide spoiler

I really liked this one and can't wait to read book two I love a good alienhuman romance and so this book was just what I was looking for I will say at times I just wanted the heroine to go with the flow yes it's a huge difference between you but if you are with an alien and you both didn't even know the other race existed you need to know you both will have different normals It bugs me when in that situation the peoplealien expect the other to do everything like they would After saying that it wasn't horrible or anything that took me out of the story but it was something that bugs me I loved both her hero and heroine I have to like a heroine in the book because to some extend they are me when I read a bookI place myself in the book but I have to love the hero and I did in fact loved him He was protective possessive and so caring and kind to the heroine She was his everything and how can you not love that This book is very safe no OWOM at all in this book This is the first book I have read from his author and I really got into this book and her writing We get a nice glimpse into who book two is about and I have to tell you I am excited

The first book in MK Eidem's series Kaliszians Nikhil Kozar suad leader of the Kaliszian Elite Guard is checking out the caves on Pontus when he finds the beaten and half dead body of a female But she is not of his species or any he knows She is in fact a human from Earth and was captured and sold as a slave to work the mines Mackenzie Mac Wharton feels she failed her group as a guide when they were captured by the Ganglians After being beaten she awakes to find herself in the arms of a huge warrior This is related to another series by MK Eidem Torians I don't think you have to read the other series but you will want to because there is mention of events that happen in the series So I like many was expecting Treyvon's story first but apparently the author felt led to tell Nikhil's story instead This was fine with me as I enjoyed his story and I loved the characters But now I have a dilemma I once again have to wait for the next book to come out

35 starsIt was good but not as good as the Tornians series I thought the heroine was too immature at times But then I would remember she had known him like a day or two and I would try to give her some slack I liked Nikhil though

This book had no story It went nowhere at all Writing style worse than previous books from this author The characters in this book exclaim everything With multiple exclamation points Even though what they are saying is not worth exclaiming I may reconsider my two stars and one star it

I love this writer and was a huge fan of Grim and Wray this book was good but not I didn’t uite enjoy it as much as the others The plot was fast paced and I really adored the hero My only complaint AND SLIGHT SPOILER the hero was so endearing and innocent in the first half of this book I absolutely fell in love with his character He spoke of how he had never kissed a woman aside from his mom and sister He spoke of how women were scared of him and avoided him because he was so large not handsome and intimidating He had my pity and I really liked that he was going to have all these first experiences with the heroine BUT just because Nikil had never kissed a woman didn’t mean he didn’t have sex with them I really could have gone without this detail It seemed to go against everything mentioned in the first half about who he truly was If almost all women were terrified of him and he was so innocent and inexperienced how is that he was sexually experienced? They call it friendships in their customs but come on This aspect really disappointed me I still did like this book a lot and the hero was completely devoted to our virgin heroine I would easily recommend this book and will likely read just about anything this author publishes
