The Cowboy's Baby Bond is the second in the Montana Cowboys series but I don't think you need to read these books in order I didn't have any problem following the story and I haven't read the first book yetI liked the characters The heroine dealt with a lot and I felt bad for her I loved the bond between the cowboy and the baby it was so sweet how he right away felt a connection to the childAll in all I enjoyed the read and recommend this book if you love historical novels It was a pretty simple read but it was goodI received a complimentary e copy of this book for my honest review Thanks NetGalley As always all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own

When you look at the basic plot it's a pretty standard Love Inspired one A woman finds herself single and pregnant and is forced into a marriage because in the time this is set unwed mothers are stigmatized Her husband isn't thrilled about a baby that's not his and is verbally abusive Then he dies The woman is convinced all men are the way he was and she's wanting to be self sufficient for herself her baby and the two sisters she's sent forThe man had a fiancee who used him she was also pregnant out of wedlock but not by him When the baby's father returned she broke off the engagement So he has trust issues and has vowed not to get involved with a woman again Adam the baby is a standard touch in these plots but he was cute and I liked how he called Johnny man Sarah and Celia the sisters are portrayed as opposites Sarah is young open accepting while Celia is hardened sullen and challenging

Everyone deserves to be lovedWillow married Bertie Reames so that her two younger sisters had somewhere to live plus she was pregnant by her fiance Bertie was a mean drunk he never showed baby Adam any affection When Bertie passed away Willow moved to a new town where she met Johnny Harding Johnny was hurt by a woman who said that she loved him but as soon as her ex boyfriend returned she dropped Johnny Willow didn't think anyone would love her because she had a baby out of wedlock and Johnny had been hurt so he was not going to put his heart out there to be hurt again but baby Adam had other ideas

Trust and forgiveness is on the line as Johnny and Willow get to know each other while searching for her sisters in MontanaI enjoyed Johnny and Willow and baby Adam together The connection they have is instant at least from Johnny's side And mostly at first with Adam Those two recognised something in each other immediately that forced a strong bond between them Not so fast forming but as strong as anything was also the bond between Willow and Johnny Being the honorable kind man that he is Johnny can't turn his back on her while she obviously needs helpThe journey they take together is filled with worry dangers and pitfalls The worry for Willow's sisters the menace of the men on the road and so much adversity while trying to start the new lifeMostly they are tested in their faith in God and trust that He is in charge and sees their future and the big picture even while they are not able to The forgiveness for themselves for those who have wronged them in the past and learning to leave it in the past are all lessons both Johnny and Willow as well as Willow's sisters have relearn couple times This story has a strong and definite message that is easy to suit to one's own life as well The tale takes us through in a gentle way the growth and cultivation of the characters their maturation in faith to God and learning to trust again in themselves their feelings and each other while forming a beautiful family of the heart Four Spoons

Johnny is on the way to repair the cabin that he and his friend intend to live in while they run their business He hears a noise and upon investigation realizes it's a young woman and her toddler son Willow is on the way to meet her sister's train when her son Adam gets sick Johnny takes Willow to his family home and then ends up helping her navigate the wilds of Montana in her search for her sisters Both of them have trust issues and need to evaluate not only their faith in God but also their standard for judging othersThis was a light but fun read There were some elements of faith throughout the book but it wasn't too much The romance between the main characters was clean and sweet There were some unrealistic moments but it was easy to put aside in the enjoyment of the story as a whole This wasn't primarily a plot driven story but seemed to balance between plot and emotion driven Overall it was a light read that I enjoyed and think would make a great beach or rainy day storyI received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

The second book in the Montana Cowboys series and I'm loving the fact that a new one is being released each month No worries if you haven't read the first book The Cowboy's Ready Made Family This reads beautifully as a standalone Johnny's nursing a festering hurt over a past betrayal He's wary of women and their beguiling ways so he's determined to resist Willow at all costs Only of course he can't She intrigues him Her infant son finds a special place in his heart And they both need his help What's a hero to do but forge ahead while trying to keep his own heart intact? Willow is just as stubbornly resistant to a happily ever after at least one that involves another husband Loved watching them dance around the obvious And especially loved the deep faith discussions that led to trust in the Lordand eventually each other
