There are times I strongly miss Bamagal At times like this when I can fumble myself in a tunnel of bad choices she would pull my leg and threaten to take away my one stars I definitely disliked this book but I guess it's a case of what you want to read I had a strong urge to DNF after a strong headache and a stronger dizziness caused by the book inability to stick to a theme It was a constant 180 swing from a very weak UF to a improbable PNR like the hero unable to be wolf or witch But both story and heroine move from one extreme to the other kick ass to absolutely useless He is one of the worst hero I can think of a frigid unsensitive scientist The sex as an experiment put any idea and warmth out of my mind BrrrI was so keen to get a werewolf' story where everyone kept saying there were no mates I should have been less careless in my enthusiasm No there are no mates But there is the same problem mate stories have Full throttle lust with no logic nor reason She sees him and stops any thinking At all Regardless of the conseuences or her pastThe first half of the book was a WTF all along She is one bag full of hormones notwithstanding what the plot said or what was done to her The second part didn't improve one iota How exactly did she fell for him? For his lack of care? His complete lack of interest or passion? If this is romance I don't really know what to think Well I'm sure that there are plenty of readers who'll love it But as I never enjoyed playing nurse and doctor I was appalled rather than enthused It was supposed to be romance and I did not see it this way There was supposed to be some action but I was bored by the lack of any thrill So I started skimming even at the end where the big confrontation happened I skipped a lot absolutely unable to be interested The shallowness of the villain and the other aspects of the book didn't helpIf you are a big fan of very light fluffy romance this maybe the book for you If you fall for the distracted scientist too It helps if you don't suffer from motion sickness

I wrote this so I'm not giving it a rating just adding it to my shelves However I can confess to you that Meankitty is not particularly a fan of this book since it's about shifter wolves instead of shifter cats How offensive

2 stars okay There is a fairly well defined world of witches and werewolves in this series witches lust after the wolves but if they succumb they lose their magic and become wolves too Former witch Marcus now a wolf believes he can reverse the process and needs an alpha witch to conduct 'sexperiments' with He inadvertently stumbles on former council witch in hiding Katie and coerces her helpWell I went back and picked up Witch Interrupted a book I'd set aside darn gnat brain I'd forgotten that I'd DNF'd on purpose When I stopped before I hadn't even gotten to the smexy parts which involved not my cup of tea spanking dominance and light bondage The leads are fairly lusty but I never got a sense of a real romantic connection between the witch and the wolf so the romance didn't work for me and when they got to the I love you's I just didn't feel it So bottom line on my reading interrupted experience with Witch Interrupted is thatI ended up finishing to find out how things wrapped up and there was a decent battle scene but even though there were a bunch of parts with potential this story just didn't end up pulling the parts together in way that engaged me

I recently discovered this author and couldn't wait to read by her This is a book about witches magic and werewolves Now don't get me wrong I do like a good werewolf romance story but sometimes I get a bit fed up of fated mates and all that malarkey I can't be the only reader to see the flaw in that idea as let's be honest whole species could die out Oh and yes I know its fiction but as a reader I want to be completely engulfed by an authors world building So it was with great anticipation and excitement that I sat down to read this bookKatie has spent a long time hiding from her coven and all her fellow witches She's pretending to be dead whilst working in a tattoo parlour but it looks as if her identity is about to be discovered She's powerful but there's a wolf sniffing around and it looks as if Katie will have to do something pretty drastic to get rid of himMarcus is a scientist and now all he lives for is the answer to controlling his inner beast and magic He has allowed himself to be transformed into a wolf in order to get answers to why his sister was murdered The covens fear him and he's on the run but uite by chance he stumbles upon a witch in hiding and uickly realises that together they could find the answers he seeksThe attraction between Katie and Marcus is fierce but hatred is a strong emotion too Can Marcus convince Katie that helping him in his experiments will help free all wolves and witches or is he too late and a mutual enemy about to rip them apart?Amazing world building yet again from this imaginative author and uite unlike anything else I've read It's hard to review without spoilers but the idea of witches and wolves having common ground is not one I've seen written about before It's a plot that pulls you in and doesn't stop as this roller coaster of a storyline keeps goingAs for the characters well Marcus is one seriously inventive male Strong determined and did I mention talented His skills are not wasted though as he puts them to good use on the heroine Katie who is such a loyal and likeable character A villain who deserves putting down just adds to the action and I loved the humorous interactions with Katie's fatherAs I've mentioned the two lead characters definitely have very strong chemistry but I thought Ms Wallace kept the sexual tension cranked up which just added to the fun and trust me those scenes are very well written and seriously hotI'm not sure if this is part of a series but if it is then I'd definitely read as I'd like to explore this uniue idea As it is I did feel there was a lot to wrap my head around but this author is so good at that making her readers se their brains and not just their libido When you read a romance by Ms Wallace you are most definitely not on auto pilot but fully engaging all your senses Another amazing book from this author and hopefully to come soonArc received via Netgalley

Smack your witch up Yowzer Did I not just finish telling you how explicitly sexy book one in this series Pack and Coven was? Well clearly I spoke too soon because this one just ratcheted that up a whole 'nother level Hoowee Again it was a little too much for me personally but in this instance it kind of fit the storyline as the effect of arousal in a witch is explored by our nerdalicious werewolf scientist heroKatie is a witch on the run A former Keeper assassin of witches who've transitioned to werewolves she's left that life behind and taken up residence under various guises as a tattoo artist along with her father and good friend Enter transitioned werewolf Marcus As part of his mission to prove wolves can transition back the other way he's sees the perfect guinea pig in convex witch Katie who would be able to withstand his sexy experiments Oh what's that you say Katie? You don't want to go with Marcus and be his love slave? Well pfft What's a little kidnapping between lovers hmm? And so our hero whisks Katie off to his secret lab in the woods and proceeds to convince her that not all science has to be dullThere is a slight undercurrent of Stockholm Syndrome in Witch Interrupted as you might have surmised from my description but it actually worked in a weird and wacky way The relationship between Katie and Marcus as strange and dysfunctional as it started out actually developed into an engaging romance that was believable and emotive I loved all of the action and the complexity of the plot and it was great to see past couple Harry and June make an appearance as wellFor me the only downside to these books is the fact that I'm a total wuss when it comes to anything resembling erotica And Marcus and Katie's explorations of pain during sex spanking and restraints was a step beyond my comfort level Still it was another gripping page turner and one I have no regrets at all about reading35 Stars ★★★12ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Review courtesy of All Things Urban FantasyAlong with a rollicking good and at times hilarious story WITCH INTERRUPTED puts a keen twist on werewolf and witch mythology that is so different from what I’m used to that I had to go back and re read sections just to get it all straight The fact that I had to go back is not a criticism so much as a comment on how attached to the storyline and characters I was by the first few chapters that I wanted to really get what was going on I loved the way in which the two races witches and werewolves have common ground magically speaking and how intricate witch society isOn the romance front I really liked getting a break from the classic ‘fated mates’ scenario that most werewolf stories have Not having to hear the word ‘mate’ multiple times was refreshing and actually made the story actually grounded in reality with two people who are just really attracted to each other due to hormones and not necessarily fateKatie and Marcus’ wonderfully amusing love hate relationship is the highlight of WITCH INTERRUPTED Their relationship has its typical ups and downs of a typical paranormal romance couple and hilarious situations that had me giggling at the oddity of these two having anything in common Occasional giggling aside I enjoyed learning about their sordid pasts and how they eventually learn to work together against a common enemy They work well as a team when not trying to undermine or spontaneously kidnap each other I adored that Marcus was a scientist helping to make scientists and scientific experiments sexy He is super smart creative and at times a touch clueless in terms of his relationship with Katie but makes up for it with some really creative bedroom techniues most of which involve some sexy scientific method talkWITCH INTERRUPTED brings sexy back to science and plays around with the typical werewolfwitch mythology with a fast paced plot that will leave you smiling by the end of the book

Title Witch InterruptedSeries Shifter World Book #2Author Jody WallaceRating BReview Witch Interrupted is a very original paranormal novel in which there is just a thin line between witches and werewolves Genetically they are one in the same however there is a whole story behind what causes witches to devolve into a werewolf Once that takes place however it is impossible for the witch to find their way back to their former selves Marcus is seeking to change that Deciding to take place in events that lose him his witchy powers he instead becomes a wolf using his scientific background to see if he can reverse the changes Unfortunately he needs a witch to help him and having been betrayed before he is at a loss as in who he might be able to trust without earning him the Keepers attention Enter Katie A former Keeper herself Katie is also on the run for her very life and that of her families When she crosses paths with Marcus can the solve the mystery between witches and wolves? The creation of this whole genetic line linking witches and wolves was very interesting to read and very original compared to other books I have read with some amazing world building The characters were all interesting and it has a great plotline to it My only complaint was that it was a bit long winded at times with the middle getting somewhat repetitive with the whole Katie gets captured by Marcus she tries to get away and repeat cycle Needless to say the characters spend at exorbent amount of time not listening to one another and managing to build up a level of trust It could have been a bit narrowed down a bit for me but overall a very good read It's definitely a bit different for those who enjoy a good paranormal tale that is not your stereotypical fanfare Even though it's part of a series it is very much a stand alone novel so no worries on that front

I hate these kinds of reviews the ones where you really enjoyed the basic story but other things in the book threw you off the story from time to timeKatie and Marcus made a great example of a lovehate relationship since they were really conflicted at the start of this story The action separated by passionate scenes which seemed to be trying much to hard to get the reader involved in S M a bit were about 5050 passionatedistracting I don't need mini scenes of 50 Shades in my readingThe main story of a group that is trying to killtorture them is riveting enough to carry this novel but the author seemed to overwrite this story at every turn this book is estimated at 368 pages from my reading she could have shaved off about 100 of those the verbiage was my main detraction I had to do some skimming to get back to the action with no real loss of the plot or storyThe ending few chapters were excellent the resolution was well done a bit of humor and surprise added at the end was niceBottom Line Great story the telling of it was much too long and might lose some readers sexual scenes were much less enticing than the author intended I am sure 35 Stars rounded down for all the extra pages other readers might rate it higher It can be read as a stand alone but there is a book 1 that apparently is the story of a couple of characters we see appear in this novel and there are enough things left to write a seuel if desired
