Another good story with a strong heroine from Ms Lisa Shea This is her latest novel and the third I've read from her I always forget to mention this in my reviews when it comes to her stories the research she has done for her works are impressive and I could clearly picture the surroundings She writes with attention to details and it helps Ms Shea is well versed about medieval times and there's always some vocab and notes at the end which I appreciate I want to focus on the story and its many twists and turns Nothing is at it seems I was kept on my toes until the end The main characters while skilled aren't invincible and I like that Ms Shea is not afraid to hurt her protagonists Well done for the way she wrote of antagonists 'cause they really grated on my nerves Death is too kind for them and I was glad Joan and Hugh's efforts weren't in vain It's not exactly a whirlwind romance because they have wanted each other for so long They have corresponded through the years without knowing it and I'm amazed at the medieval covert ops This love story wasn't easy the best ones never are

This was really good up till about 20% into it Joan and Hugh had seen each other from a distance years ago and it was love at first sight Skip forward and they meet again on a mission both are spy ninja warriors So Joan knows who he is but he never saw her face She is going to slowly introduced herself to him and see if their first meeting was for real After spending a few days together he goes to her home and sees a tapestry that she did of their first meeting in her room He turns and says that was you she says yes then they run into each others arms kissing and then it literally says and then the clothes start flying It doesn't go into any detail but I thought that was super lame And then it's sex between missions not for me Could have been a great build up love story but went into the gutter uicklyMoral Note Pre marriage relations a pretty graphic multi murder missiondrinking etc Not sure what elseglad it was free on kindle dah lete

I'm afraid I found little to draw me into the story It moves along well but it doesn't captivate me Basically I continued reading just to find out if I could be satisfied with how the book ended Would I read it again? Probably not
